HASSAN: A police head constable was suspended after he thrashed a hawker for not selling a plastic table to him at a discounted price.

Manikumar, attached to the Yeslur police station in Sakleshpur taluk, stopped the hawker Arjun, who hails from Gadag, and inquired about the price of the plastic tables that he was selling. When the hawker quoted a price of Rs 2,500, Manikumar allegedly bargained for Rs 1,800.

When Arun told the head constable that he could not sell the table for such a low price and requested the latter to quote a higher price, an angry Manikumar took Arjun to the roof of the Canara Bank building in Yeslur, accused him of stealing the plastic table, abused him and hit him with a lathi.
