HC directs registration of case against Sandur police inspector for assaulting individual

BALLARI: The Dharwad bench of the Karnataka High Court has directed the registration of a case against Sandur Circle Police Inspector Mahesh Gowda for allegedly assaulting an individual identified as Vivekananda V.

The incident occurred on August 24, following a verbal altercation between the two. In the heat of an argument, Mahesh Gowda allegedly assaulted Vivekananda. The victim had filed a complaint against CPI Mahesh Gowda, but no action was taken.

Subsequently, Vivekananda approached the High Court with a writ petition, submitting medical reports in support of his claim. The High Court has now instructed senior police officials to register a case against CPI Mahesh Gowda.
