HASSAN: Following the horrific car accident in which six members of a family, including two women and a child, were killed near Eechanahalli village near Hassan town on Sunday, Chikkaballapur MLA Pradeep Eshwar has come forward to help the victim’s children by taking responsibility of their education.
The accident occurred when the occupants of the car were returning to their village after meeting an ailing relative who is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru. The deceased were identified as Narayanappa, Sunanda, Ravikumar, Netra, Chetan (minor) and Rakesh (driver).
The deceased Sunanda and Netra were sisters hailing from Chigatenalli village in Chikkaballapur taluk. The couple Netra and Ravikumar had three children — Pallavi, Poornima and son Chetan. But the son died in the accident, along with his parents.
Netra and Ravikumar had left behind their two daughters at Chigatenahalli. After learning about the incident, Chikkaballapur MLA Pradeep Eshwar visited the victim Netra’s house in Chigatenahalli village and consoled the two children.
Pradeep Eshwar has also promised to deposit Rs 1 lakh each in the name of the two children in a post office account and get compensation of Rs 2 lakh from the government.
