BENGALURU: A group of transgenders (Mangalamukhis) created a ruckus at a garment store during its inauguration at Hampinagar in Vijayanagar in the city over demand for money.

The store owner, Raghavendra, had organised a puja ceremony before the inauguration. Just as the puja was about to begin, a group of four Mangalamukhis arrived at the store and demanded money. Raghavendra gave them Rs 2,000, but they demanded Rs 10,000. When their demand was not met, they allegedly attempted to assault Raghavendra and warned his family members.

Raghavendra has expressed his anger and frustration, stating that mangalamukhis often disrupt auspicious events and demandmoney. “They will not accept what is given to them. If people don’t give what they demand, they used abusive language”, he noted.

He has also sought action against those who attempted to assault him. A video of the incident has gone viral, showing the Mangalamukhi group creating a ruckus and demanding money.
