The Congress had run a huge campaign against the then BJP government in the run-up to the Assembly election.

BENGALURU: The Congress, which had announced that it will launch in investigation into the 40 per cent commission allegations against the previous BJP government if it comes to power, now seems unsure about the terms of reference for a judicial commission.

The Congress government had recently announced that it will set up a judicial commission to probe the allegations.

Posters alleging 40 per cent commission had sprung up all across Bengaluru.

While it is said that preparations are being made to issue an official order on the judicial commission, there seems to be no clarity on what cases it should look into and what will be the terms of reference.

Also, the Law ministry will have to await the CM’s word on the issue. Sources said that no matter what the Law ministry comes up with, they will still have to await instructions from the CM.

For a government that was eager to investigate the allegations, the lack of clarity in the administrative machinery has come as a surprise to many in the political circles.
