KALABURAGI: In an embarrassing goof-up, the Urban Development Department has issued orders transferring an municipal employee who had died six months ago.
Ashok Putapak, a junior engineer with the Sedam town municipal corporation die due to illness on January 12 this year. His last rites were conducted at his native Diggaon vilalge in Chittapur taluk.
Six months after his death, the Urban Development Department has issued order on July 6 transferring him to Kodagu district. It is not clear whether Ashok himself had sought a transfer before his death or whether the department was totally unaware of his death.
