BENGALURU: Government doctors in Karnataka have decided not to buy medicines for patients even if there’s a shortage in hospitals, citing a possible violation of the KTPP (Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement) Act.
The decision comes after some medical officers were accused of violating the Act by purchasing medicines under the AB-ARK grant when there was a shortage.
The association of government medical officers has issued a statement saying they won’t purchase medicines, even if it means patients suffer due to shortages.
