BENGALURU: The Congress government, in a surprise move, has appointed IAS officer Rakesh Singh, who was ealier BBMP administrator, as chairman of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).

The move comes in the wake of intense lobbying from some senior Congress MLAs for the post. The move to appoint an IAS officer to the post has apparently left some of them upset.
