BENGALURU: The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has upgraded its software for conversion of A-khata to B-khata. The software development is complete and it has been sent to Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar for review and approval.

Once approved, A-khata distribution will begin, with only minor tasks remaining. This move is expected to benefit A-khata holders. The new software will allow A-khata holders to apply and make payments online. It will also require property owners to provide site and building information.

It has been a month since the khata conversion order was issued, but khatas were still not distributed as the new software was being prepared. The A-khata distribution is likely to commence next month after the software is approved. Guidelines for the upgrade process are expected to be released soon.

The state government had issued an order to upgrade all B-khata to A-khata about a month ago. However, the process was delayed due to the development of the new software. The upgrade is expected to streamline account management and provide more benefits to property owners.
