BENGALURU: A gym trainer was brutally attacked by a gang of five individuals with iron rods on September 23 in Anekal on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The incident has come to light only now.
Five people allegedly barged into a gym and assaulted the trainer, Sandeep, with iron rods. Sandeep, a resident of Anekal town, was attacked by Arun, Gowtham, Anusha, Meghana and others. Sandeep worked as a trainer at Rippled Gym in Anantanagar, Hebbagodi.
Anusha, one of the accused, was a client at the gym and had become friends with Sandeep, even chatting with him on WhatsApp.
However, things took a dark turn when Anusha’s brothers, Gautham and Arun, checked her phone. They alleged that Sandeep had hacked Anusha’s phone, which led to the brutal attack on him and discovered that Sandeep had been chatting with her.
Sandeep was rushed to a private hospital for treatment. The incident was captured on the gym’s CCTV camera, and a case has been registered against five people at the Hebbagodi police station.
