KALABURAGI: In a major embarrassment for the ruling Congress, one of its own MLAs has expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of funds for development. “It is our misfortune that we have to face the wrath of the people”, Gulbarga South MLA Allamaprabhu Patil said.

The MLA, who received petitions regarding pending civic works like, roads, drainage, etc from residents of a locality in the city, said, “Already Rs 65,000 crore is being spent on implementing the five guarantees. Women are already getting Rs 2,000 per month, travelling free by buses and getting free power and rice. Due to this, development has been affected. It’s our misfortune that we have to face the anger of people. If we want to take up development, funds are going towards the guarantees”.

“We will be getting Rs 9 crore funds of which 38 villages and 23 wards will get Rs 20 lakh each and tender are already being called. We are also drilling about 100 borewells wherever there is water problem”, he said.
