Four people from two families dead, 6 injured in accident near Ranebennur

The car veered off the highway and fell on the service road.

HAVERI: Four people died and six others were injured after the car they were travelling in overturned after veering off the highway near the Halageri bypass road in Ranebennur taluk early on Friday. It is said that members of two families were on their way to Tirupati when the accident occurred.

The deceased are Suresh Jadi (45), Aishwarya Barki (22), Chetana (7) and Pramila Samagandi (28). While the first three died on the Pramila died in the Ranebennur hospital. They were residents of Ashwini Nagar in Haveri.

The roof of the car had ripped open due to the impact.

The injured Channnaveerappa Jadi, Savithra Jadi, Vikash Honnappa Barki, Honnappa Barki, Prabhuraj Samagandi and Geetha Barki wre admitted to the taluk hospital in Ranebennur and in Davanagere.

The accident occurred after the driver lost control on NH-4 and the car fell on to the service road. The last rites of the deceased were conducted together in Haveri on Friday evening. The Ranebennur traffic police visited the spot and registered a case.
