Four people were arrested by the Ashoknagar police for kidnapping and robbing a techie.

Rahul had gone to Brigade Road in an auto around 3 am on November 26 when an unknown person met him on the way. The stranger showed him some photos on his mobile phone, which is said to be of some girls. Rahul said he didn’t like it.

Rahul moved to another place and by then, a car had started to follow his autorickshaw. He told the autorickshaw driver to go to the nearby police station after noticing the unknown car behind the auto. But the gang stopped the auto about 500 metres from the police station, kidnapped Rahul near Bangalore Central Mall in Ashoknagar and threatened him with a knife.

Rahul claimed that the gang assaulted him in the car and asked for his ATM and credit cards. Later, the gang took him around various places such as Indiranagar, KR Puram, Bellandur, Electronics City and withdrew money from the ATM. They also snatched his chain and called up his family to demand Rs 2 lakh. They left him only after the money was transferred to them in the morning.

Based on a complaint from Rahul, the police have arrested the four accused and further investigation is under way.
