BENGALURU: The Sanjaynagar police have arrested four people for duping a private company of Rs 9 crore on the pretext of paying Goods and Services Tax.
Nikhil, who works as an associate chartered accountant, submitted a report to private automotive company in stating that Rs 9 crore has to be paid towards GST. Going by the report, the company owner paid up the amount in instalments.
When Nikhil asked for more money even after paying Rs 9 crore, the firm owner came to know that he had been cheated and lodged a complaint with the Sadashivanagar police. The case was later transferred to the Sanjaynagar police.
