MADIKERI: Four people have been arrested following an attack on a a Hindu activist in Napoklu in Madikeri taluk. Police Superintendent Bindumani visited the scene of the attack on Saturday and reviewed the security arrangements for the upcoming Hindu Sangama Samavesha at Ballamavatti.
Speaking to the media, Superintendent Bindumani stated that all the accused in the attack have been arrested and strict action will be taken against them. She warned that the police will not tolerate any violent activities in the district and urged citizens to maintain peace and harmony.
The four accused, Suhel, Siddiq, Nafi and Rashid, were produced before the Virajpet Magistrate Court, which remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days.
The police have arrested the accused for their alleged involvement in the attack on Goutham, a Hindu activist, during a promotional event for the Hindu Sangama. Hindu organisations had given an ultimatum to the police to arrest the accused by noon on Saturday, and the police have now taken action.
