Former CM Yediyurappa cancels roadshow after BJP workers block road in Mudigere

CHIKKAMAGALUR: Senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa called off his roadshow after BJP workers expressed outrage against Mudigere MLA M P Kumaraswamy and blocked the National Highway on Thursday.

High drama ensued after the BJP workers expressed outrage against MLA M P Kumaraswamy by blocking the road. They also demanded that he should not be given the party ticket and that it should be given a ticket to the new candidate. Yediyurappa, who was on his way to participate in the Vijay Sankalp Yatra, was blocked by thousands of party workers.

Local BJP leaders and more than a thousand party workers participated in the protest. Acting quickly, the police shifted M P Kumaarswamy to a safe place. After the incident, Yediyurappa cancelled the road show and head back towards the helipad.
