BENGALURU: A foreign national, named Caleb Friesen, has made a video showcasing the situation in Bengaluru, specifically the issues with footpaths and garbage on the roads.
I took a walk in HSR Layout recently.
Here’s what I realised:
1. Footpaths are inaccessible due to encroachment
2. Inaccessible footpaths aren’t maintained
3. Unmaintained footpaths become dumping spots
4. Dumping spots become toilets

In the video, he shows how footpaths are blocked by food stalls, coconut vendors and other petty shops, making it difficult for pedestrians to walk.
He also highlights the garbage piled up in footpaths and questions whether the vendors have licenses to operate. Caleb has uploaded the video to his social media account, and it has now gone viral.
