MANGALURU: Fishermen caught more than 400kg of fish using a Kai Ramponi, the traditional way of fishing, at Guddekopla beach in Suratkal.

Jeevan Pereira, a fisherman, along with others, chose the Kai Ramponi way of fishing, where they spread fishing nets from the shore and catch fish.

Indian Mackerel, Croaker Fish, Yellow Croaker and many others were caught in the net, much to the surprise of locals who bought the fish from the fishermen on the shore itself.
