MANGALURU: The Fire and Emergency Services personnel rescued a toddler who had accidentally locked himself in a room in their apartment at Kodialguthu here on Tuesday.

The boy was playing in the room when he accidentally bolted himself from inside. The panic-stricken parents immediately called the Fire and Emergency Services.

The firemen climbed to the fourth floor of the apartment, right above the room where the child had locked himself in, and one of them was lowered into the balcony of the third floor flat who then entered the room and rescued the child safely.

The incident comes on the back of a similar case where a toddler, the son of a police officer, had accidentally locked himself in a room of their house in Koppal on Monday. The firemen rescued the child by prying open the door.
