FIR filed against 2 in connection with BJP worker’s death involving Shobha Karandlaje’s SUV

BENGALURU: An FIR has been registered against two drivers in connection with the accident involving Bangalore North Lok Sabha candidate Shobha Karandlaje’s SUV and a private bus in which a BJP worker had died. Someone opened a door of the  SUV and the BJP worker had crashed into it and fell on the road when a private bus ran over  his head.

The FIR was registered based on a complaint by the daughter of  the deceased BJP activist Prakash. A case has been registered at the KR Puram traffic police station for speeding and reckless driving.

Prakash (62) had left home at 9 am on Monday as there was a BJP meeting. The accident took place around 12 pm. Shobha Karandlaje’s SUV was parked on Old Madras Road in KR Pura. The accident occurred when the SUV car driver opened the door of the car, and Prakash suddenly came from behind on his scooter and hit the car. He fell on the road along with his bike, and a private bus ran over his head.

Prakash has sustained severe injuries and died on the way to a hospital. A case has been registered at KR Pura traffic police station.
