KALABURAGI: An FIR has been registered against BJP Rural district president Shivaraj Patil Raddewadagi for organising a cricket tournament in the name of the party at Jewargi taluk, on Tuesday, in violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
Shivraj Patil is a BJP ticket aspirant from Jewargi constituency for the upcoming Assembly elections. The FIR names five people, including Shivraj Patil Raddewadagi, for organising a cricket tournament.
The Model Code of Conduct came into force from March 28 when the Election Commission announced the schedule for the Karnataka Assembly election.
