BENGALURU: Excise officials conducted raids on house in different parts of the city on January 29 and 30 and seized 716.25 litres of dutyfree liquor worth Rs 4,61,04,481 stocked illegally, and also seized two two-wheelers. The raids were conducted at Nagarbhavi, Dasarahalli, Basaveshwaranagar and the basement of a PG accommodation in Kamakshipalya.
At the Basaveshwaranagar residence, the Excise officials found 538 litres of dutyfree liquor worth Rs 39,08,907. The accused attempted suicide by consuming toilet cleaner, but the officials rushed him to a hospital.
At the basement of the Kamakshipalya PG accommodation, the Excise officials found 163 litres of dutyfree liquor. In Dasarahalli, seven litres of dutyfree liquor worth Rs 80,000 and a two-wheeler, and in Nagarbhavai, 8.25 litres worth Rs 80,000 and a two-wheeler were seized.
