DAVANAGERE: An entire village was supplied with contaminated water after sewage water entered the drinking water pipeline. The incident occurred in Lingadahalli in the taluk.
The villagers had requested the gram panchayat authorities on several occasions to ensure that sewage water does not stagnate, but the authorities turned a blind eye resulting in the entire Lingadahalli village getting only contaminated water.
Not only households, even the reverse osmosis (RO) plant too is getting contaminated water. The villagers have appealed to the authorities concerned to fix the problem immediately.
