CHAMARAJANAGAR: A wild elephant chased a safari vehicle carrying tourists on the PG Palya safari route at the Male Mahadeshwara Wildlife Sanctuary on Wednesday. Luckily, no one was injured.

A herd of wild elephants appeared during the safari and one elephant charged toward the safari vehicle, trumpeting loudly. Tourists were in panic for a while, but the driver sped up the safari vehicle and everyone escaped unharmed. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Meanwhile, a huge fish death was witnessed at Antaragange, a famous pilgrimage site Male Mahadeshwara Hills in Hanur Taluk. Antaragange has become polluted and fish have died.

The water also flows into the Male Mahadeshwara Wildlife Sanctuary. There are allegations that this poses a danger to wildlife lives too. Locals have demanded the authorities to clean up Antaragange.
