BENGALURU : Election officials have seized a huge quantity of narcotics, drugs, cash, gold, silver and diamond in different parts of the state today, during checking ahead of the Lok Sabha election.
The Static Surveillance Team (SST) and I-T officials seized Rs 1.30 crore in a joint operation. Liquor worth Rs 1.27 crore, drugs and narcotics worth Rs 4.97 lakh, and Rs 7.20 crore worth of gold, silver and diamonds were seized. A total of 847 cases have been filed, and FIRs have been registered.
Apart from this, Rs 56.89 lakh was seized in Shravanabelagola, Hassan, and Rs 20 lakh was seized near the Pillekerenahalli checkpost in Chitradurga district. Apart from this, Rs 4.21 crore worth of gold, silver and diamonds were seized under Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency at the MC Halli checkpost near Tarikere taluk.
