BENGALURU: The Education department has decided to set up a committee to include syllabus on heart attack in the school curriculum. This decision comes after the Health Department requested the Education Department to incorporate the subject into the curriculum.
It is likely that the syllabus on heart attacks will be added to school textbooks from the next academic year. A joint committee comprising health experts and education department officials will be formed to decide on the contents and format of the chapter.
The committee will determine the grade level for introducing the chapter, as well as the content and presentation style that will be most effective for students. The Education Department plans to implement the new chapter and prepare a syllabus based on the committee’s report and after discussions with the Chief Minister.
The committee will focus on creating content that is easy for students to understand and will decide which grade levels will benefit most from the chapter. It will also determine whether the chapter should be introduced in Classes 1-10 or at the pre-university level.
The Education Department will take further action based on the committee’s report and recommendations.
