ED seizes Rs 1.68 crore in cash, gold biscuits worth Rs 2.25 crore from MLA Satish Sail

KARWAR: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized crores of rupees in cash and gold biscuits during a raid on the residence of Congress MLA Satish Sail in Karwar.

The ED has confiscated Rs 1.68 crore in cash, 6.75 kg of gold biscuits worth Rs 2.25 crore, and frozen bank accounts containing Rs 14.13 crore.

Satish Sail, who is currently out on bail in a case related to illegal iron ore smuggling, is facing investigation in the Belekeri ore smuggling case. The ED had raided his residence on August 13 and 14, seizing several documents.

The case is currently pending in the High Court. The ED has conducted searches at multiple locations in Karwar (Uttara Karnataka), Goa, Mumbai, and New Delhi.
