CHIKKAMAGALURU: A drunkard killed his wife with an axe, suspecting her of having an extramarital affair, in Kiragunda village of Mudigere taluk. The deceased has been identified as Padmakshi (40).
The accused Chandra used to fight with Padmakshis over her alleged immoral relationship every day. Both were working on a coffee plantation at Kirgunda village. Chandra had a fight with his wife last night too in a drunken stupor. He beat his wife, attacked her with an axe in the house, threw the body out of the house, and went to sleep after shutting the door.
Padmakshi died on the spot due to extreme cold and heavy bleeding. Chandra woke up in the morning and saw that his wife had died.
The deceased has two daughters, aged 18 and 15, who were not at home at the time of the incident. The police visited the spot in the morning and arrested the accused Chandra. A case has been registered at Gonibeedu police station.
