BENGALURU: A group of three men, who were under the influence of alcohol, assaulted two women at Avalahalli in Talaghattapura over a trivial reasons around 6 pm on Sunday.
According to a complaint lodged with the Talagattapura police, Balaji, Yogi and another prson assaulted the two women, pulled them by the the hair in public, and used abusive language. Later, the neigbhours came to their rescue.
The provocation for the altercation was an argument. A man was playing with children on the road when the trio came near his house and abused him. When he questioned them, the trio assaulted him. Local residents captured the clash on their mobile phones.
An FIR has been registered at the Talaghattapura police station against the accused Balaji and Yogi under IPC Sections 506 (threat), 34, 504 (attempt to disturb the peace), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 354 (rape on women). The police are on the lookout for the other accused.
