CHITRADURGA:  A controversy has erupted after a doctor held a pre-wedding photoshoot in the operation theatre of a government hospital in Bharamasagar in Chitradurga district.

The contract physician, Dr Abhishek chose the operation theatre as the location for his pre-wedding photoshoot. He has been filmed performing surgery on a ‘patient’ lying on the bed while his fiancee is helping him with the surgery. After the ‘operation’, the ‘patient’ can be seen suddenly springing back to a conscious state. About three to four people were inside the room during the shoot with cameras and lights.

The couple’s pre-wedding video is now doing the rounds on social media with many people raising concern over the doctor’s act saying that he was misusing the operation theatre at a government hospital.

District Health Officer Dr Renu Prasad said Dr Abhishek, who was seen in the viral video, was appointed through the National Health Mission (NHM) on contract basis a month ago. “He was appointed as a medical officer on a contract basis. The pre-wedding shoot at Bharamasagar Health Centre was held in an unused operation theatre. No surgery has been performed in that OT since last September. I will issue a notice to the hospital administrator to take immediate action”, he said.
