BENGALURU: Janata Dal (Secular) youth wing president Nikhil Kumaraswamy has hit back at Congress leaders saying that it is not right on their part to drag Prime Minister Modi in the case of MP Prajwal Revanna’s obscene videos. “PM Modi has nothing to do with this”, he said.

After meeting party supremo H D Deve Gowda, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, who was responding to media queries in the Prajwal Revanna case, said, “I have said many times earlier, whether it is Revanna’s issue or the Hassan MP’s issue, in my political life and as a party workers, I do not visit Hassan district much. I only visit the Goddess Hasanamba temple every year to seek blessings. Other than that, I never visit Hassan. I don’t have much contact with the Hassan MP, and I cannot give any advice, I will not discuss much on this issue”.

To a question on whether the BJP had earlier suggested not to give the ticket to Prajwal, Nikhil said, “I am just a party worker and the ticket issue was decided by the party seniors. I only worked in the election as common party workers, following the directives of the state president, national president and the core committee president. Kumaraswamy will go to Hassan in the coming days to fill the Hassan party activists with courage. Kumaraswamy will meet the party workers and leaders. The party will not allow anyone to panic”.

Referring to BJP leader L R Shivaramegowda’s remark that ‘H D Revanna was caught red-handed in London too, Nikhil Kumaraswamy said, “He is a senior leader and may have spoken about something. Now, an SIT has been formed. Let’s discuss the issue after the report is filed”.

Shivarame Gowda had alleged that Revanna had been involved with such cases earlier too just like his son Prajwal Revanna, during a visit to England.
