BENGALURU: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president D K Shivakumar, who had once remarked that the more stronger a person is, the more enemies he has, seems to be surrounded by rivals. And this, within his own party!

The state Congress chief, who appears supremely confident, is already engaged in a war of words with BJP leaders over several issues. But within his own party, the Siddaramaiah camp seems to be coming together to take on Shivakumar if the recent utterances of Chamarajpet MLA B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan on the party’s CM candidate are anything to go by.

Political watchers point out that there has always been friction between Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah and this may
only intensify in the days ahead. If this was not enough, Shivakumar has been getting into spats with BJP leaders like M T B Nagaraj, Ramesh Jarkiholi, K S Eshwarappa and Dr C N Ashwath Narayan. He even needled the president of his own party’s campaign committee.

With the Siddaramaiah camp making its move, it will be interesting to how Shivakumar will respond.
