RAMANAGARA: A security guard at the Kabbalamma temple in Kanakapura taluk allegedly assaulted a devotee over a trivial reason on Thursday. The injured was identified as Mallesh.

On account of the new moon today, there was a rush of devotees at the temple. While the devotees were standing in queue for darshan, security guard Nagaraj was allegedly taking some people inside the temple directly for darshan.

When Mallesh questioned this, Nagaraj picked an argument with him and, in a fit of anger, hit Mallesh on the head with a bunch of keys that he was carrying.

Mallesh sustained grievous injuries and was bleeding. The other devotees demanded the temple authorities to initiate action against the security guard. The incident occurred in Sathanur police limits.
