Anand Mamani (56), State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker passed away due to long time ill-health

BELAGAVI: The last rites of Deputy Speaker of the Karnataka Assembly, Anand Mamani, was held with all state honours at the Chandrama farm house on Yandravi road, on the outskits of Saudatti on Sunday. The funeral rites held according to Veerashaiva tradition.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday condoled the death Anand Mamani and said that he was a formidable leader who worked extensively for social empowerment.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, speaking to media persons after paying his tribute to the mortal of Anand Mamani said, “He was a very active person, but it fate had other things in store for him. He himself conducted the proceedings of the last Assembly. He met me on on August 26 and discussed about development of the district, and the co-operation sector. He had concern for farmers. He was very happy after I became Chief Minister. We made all efforts to save him by getting him treatment at prestigious hospitals in Chennai and Bengaluru. But he did not survive. The state had lost a commmitted leader. He had a desire to build another sugar factory in this part of Belagavi. Other leaders of this region will complete his wish. Mamani’s demise is personally a huge loss for me. Let God give strength to family to bear his loss. I had last met him on August 28”, he remembered.

Anand Mamani (56) passed away on Saturday midnight due to prolonged ill-health. He was suffering from a liver ailment. He was shifted to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru after receiving treatment in a hospital in Chennai. He was in a coma state from Saturday night and breathed his last around midnight.

Anand Mamani was survived by his wife Ratna Anand Mamani, daughter Chethana, son Chinmay Mamani and other family members.
