B Dayananda will be the new Bengaluru city police commissioner.

BENGALURU: Days after assuming power, the new Congress government in the state has named IPS officer B Dayananda as the new Bengaluru city police commissioner in place of C H Pratap Reddy, who has been moved as DGP, Internal Security Division. Dayananda was ADGP (Intelligence).

C H Pratap Reddy and Dr M A Saleem have been given different postings.

In another major change, ADGP Dr M A Saleem, who was named as Special Commissioner-Traffic, by the previous BJP government to streamline traffic in Bengaluru, has been promoted as DGP-Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Additional Director General of Police (CID) K V Sharath Chandra has been transferred as ADGP (Intelligence) has now been posted as ADGP-CID.
