BENGALURU: A day after Congress leaders arrived in the Assembly with marigold flowers on their ears during the Budget presentation by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, opposition party has now launched a poster war.
Across Bengaluru and other cities, wherever the BJP has pasted posters claiming that it is ‘the only hope’, Congress workers have overnight stuck posters on them stating ‘Saakappa, Saaku, Kivi Mele Hoova’ (Enough of putting flowers on people’s ears).
In Bengaluru, Congress workers and youth wing members formed teams and fanned out in Shantinagar, Gandhinagar, Indiranagar, Jogupalya and other places in all the 24 Assembly constituencies in Bengaluru and stuck posters on the BJP’s posters, including on the faces of the Prime Minister and other leaders. Except Anekal, Hoskote and Yelahanka constituencies, the Congress workers stuck posters everywhere else.
On Saturday, Congress workers distributed marigold flowers along with a ‘report card’ of the BJP on MG Road. They also got into buses and distributed the ‘report card’.
In Hubballi, Congress aspirant from Hubballi-Dharwad Central constituency, Rajat Ullagaddi and supporters took up the poster campaign in Hubballi city. The poster war was seen at Bikarnakatte in Mangaluru also.
