RAMANAGARA: State Congress chief D K Shivakumar held a grand roadshow as part of his campaign in Kanakapura on the last day on Monday.  Shivakumar was accompanied by his brother and MP D K Suresh.

Speaking during the campaign, he said, “I did not come to Kanakapura since four years. DKS is recognised as a fighter in the state. I am living by Dr B R Ambedkar’s tenet, ‘Even if you don’t fight, don’t sell yourself to worry”.

“The entire state has recognised me with the strength that you have given me. I am not the candidate here, the voters are the candidates. The Assembly election is decided by people. I just wanted to stop youngsters migrating to Bengaluru in search of job. Employment should be generated here itself and education should be strengthened”, he said and added that the people of Kanakapura should focus on development.

On the issue of I-T and ED raids, Shivakumar said, “I was harassed by the BJP. If I bribe anyone, I will retire from politics. Income Tax and ED case has been filed against me. But with your blessings I have won everything. Everyone calls me the ‘rock (bande) of Kanakapura. At least turn this rock into the steps of Vidhana Soudha, or carve a statue”.
