Craving something sweet? – Try this easy Puffed Rice Chikki

Are you craving something sweet to eat? But don’t have the patience to wait for a special occasion? Or too lazy to go out in the heat to buy something? Or do you have a sweet tooth and want to make something to satisfy your heart? Then this is the go-to recipe for you. Try this chikki made from puffed rice and jaggery.

Ingredients

  • Puffed rice – 4 cups
  • Almond – 1/2 cup
  • Pumpkin seeds – a little
  • Jaggery – 2 cups
  • Ghee – 1/2 cup
  • Cardamon powder – 1 spoon

Method

  • Firstly dry roast the puffed rice
  • Then dry roast the pumpkin seeds almonds
  • In a pan add jaggery, ghee and some water and boil till the jaggery is completely melted
  • Bring the jaggery mixture to a boil, then add the roasted puffed rice, 1/4 tsp cardamom powder, almond and pumpkin seeds and mix well.
  • Grease a plate or a bowl with ghee and add the heated pumpkin jaggery mixture and let it cool completely.
  • When lukewarm to touch break the chikki into pieces and it’s ready to serve.

You can re-shape the mixture to any desired shape. The addition of melted chocolate will give it a sweet twist.
