BAGALKOT: A couple who met on social media platform Instagram and got married in a week are now separated, with the woman claiming that her husband had abandoned her in a rented house.
She has now approached the police to help find her husband and is insistent that she will not return to her hometown in Purnea district of Bihar. Both the woman and her husband are previously divorced.
Nariza Begum and Mohammed Imran Kilari, a car driver, met on Instagram after he posted a comment on her picture. The two, who were already divorced, soon fell in love and made video calls. After the families consented, Imran travelled to Bihar and married Nazira at a simple ceremony in the presence of relatives.
The couple returned to Navanagar in Bagalkot last month, and five days ago, they shifted to a rented house in Seegikeri village. On the fifth day, Imran abandoned Nariza in the house and fled and his mobile phone is also switched off.
Nariza has now lodged a complaint with the women’s police station pleading to find her husband, not to hurt him and to convince him to continue living with her.
