BENGALURU: Actor and comedian Nagabhushan was arrested by the Kumaraswamy Layout traffic police after he rammed his car into a couple walking along the road on Saturday night near Kumaraswamy Layout police station. While the woman died on the way to hospital, the husband is being treated in the ICU for serious injuries.
According to police, Nagabhushan knocked down the couple on Vasanthapura Main Road on Saturday night and then hit an electricity pole. The deceased woman has been identified as Prema (48) and her injured husband as Krishna (58).
The accident occurred while he was returning home after a shoot at night. Nagabhushan himself shifted the couple to a hospital, but the woman succumbed to injuries on the way while her husband is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit. The actor them went to the police station from the hospital and gave details of the incident.
The actor Nagabhushan acted as the hero in the movie ‘Tagarupalya’, and rose to fame with ‘Bhadava Rascal’. He has also acted in ‘Kousalya Supraja Rama’, and played roles in many movies, including ‘Ikkattu’ and ‘Hoysala’. He also featured in a web series produced by Shivarajkumar’s daughter.
