KOLAR: A couple hailing from Andhra Pradesh died and more than 15 people sustained injuries after a private bus overturned on National Highway-75 near Virupakshi Gate in Mulbagal taluk early on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Sharif and Maimunnisa of Vijayawada.
Two others are said to be in a serious condition. The injured were shifted to the government hospital in Mulbagal and the district hospital in Kolar by the police.
The bus was coming from Guntur to Bengaluru and the driver may have lost control as he was feeling drowsy. There were about 30 passengers in the bus which belongs to Vemuri-Kaveri Travels. Both the bus driver and conductor fled the scene after the accident.
