BENGALURU: The ongoing conflict in West Asia has led to a shortage of LPG cylinders in Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka, forcing hotels to shut down. Amidst this, cooking oil prices are skyrocketing. Prices have risen by Rs 8-10 per litre, with supplies dwindling.

Sunpure sunflower oil now costs Rs 163-173 per litre, while Gold Winner is priced at Rs 161-169. Other brands like Fortune, Freedom and Ruchi Gold have also seen significant hikes.

Lamp oil prices have also increased, with Anandam and Murugan brands now costing Rs 125-135 per litre. The situation may worsen if the supply chain is disrupted further, traders warn. With festivals like Ugadi and Ramzan around the corner, consumers are bracing for impact.
