KALABURAGI: Two youths have been arrested after a group attacked a police constable at an accident site on the outskirts of Aland on Sunday. The injured constable was indentified as Ganpatrao Ghante.
A Mahindra Bolero pickup truck and and a TumTum autorickshaw were involved in an accident near the Chillal petrol bunk following which a police team arrived at the spot. A gang of youths from Nipani thanda suddenly appeared on the scene and picked a fight with the TumTum auto occupants.
When constable Gangatrao intervened to break up the fight, eight youths including Nikhil and Karan attacked him and escaped. The police have arrested two of them and are on the lookout for the others. The Aland police have registered a case.
