Congress leader Lakkanna Savasuddi has accused some officials of creating fake documents.

BELAGAVI: The Savadatti taluk panchayat executive officer (EO) and the Madamageri panchayat development officer (PDO) have been accused of creating fake bond papers and selling a piece of land worth about Rs 6 crore for half the price. An FIR has been registered at the Murgod police station in this regard.

According to Congress leader Lakkana Savasuddi, the EO Yashwanth Hosamani and PDO Y H Sheri created fake documents and sold six guntas of the 12 guntas of land belonging to one Amaresh Hosamani for just Rs 3 crore whereas its value is Rs 6 crore, in Madamageri panchayat limits. He claimed that the signature and bond paper were fake and added that the photograph of Amaresh was downloaded from a social media platform.

Lakkanna said complaints had been lodged with the Lokayukta and revenue secretary, but not action has been taken. He claimed that there were at least half a dozen other such cases and called for immediate action against the officials.
