BENGALURU: Ahead of the Assembly budget session from July 4, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday kicked up political a storm when he alleged that the Congress government has started collecting a ‘YST’ (allegedly alluding to ‘Yathindra Siddaramaiah Tax’). However, he did not elaborate on what he meant by YST.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters JP Bhavan here on Sunday, Kumaraswamy said a new tax has been implemented by the Congress government, just like there is GST tax in the country.

“When I was CM, I ordered transfers of officials without taking even Rs 5. I have morality and ethics. There is no need for me to be afraid”, Kumaraswamy, said, lashing out against the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government.

Only a week ago, Kumaraswamy had alleged that the Congress was involved in massive corruption in transfer of officials. Kumaraswamy had alleged accused that some powers were involved in the transfer mafia. Now, his remark on ‘YST’ has raised curiosity in political circles.

Meanwhile, BJP MLC N Ravikumar also hurled a similar charge, accusing the government of collecting ‘VST’, alluding to ‘Venugopal-Siddaramaiah Tax’.
