BENGALURU: While the heavy monsoon rains are lashing several parts of the state, the Met department has said that there is a possibility of rain continuing for the next three days in coastal areas, Malnad region, and some parts of north-interior Karnataka.

According to Dr Latha, scientist at the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is being recorded in coastal districts, as well as in Hassan, Shivamogga, Madikeri, and parts of Belagavi. A yellow alert has been issued for these areas for the next two days.

After three days, rainfall in these areas is expected to gradually decrease. Rainfall is low in Bengaluru, Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Tumakuru, Kalaburagi, Yadagiri and Raichur districts. Cloudy weather is expected to continue for another ten days and the chances of rain are low in these areas. Even if it rains, the rainfall amount will be very low, she said.
