BENGALURU: Setting aside their political rivalry, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai in hospital on Saturday, where he is recovering after a minor heart surgery. Siddaramaiah inquired about his health at a private hospital on Bannerghatta Road and wished him speedy recovery.

Basavaraj Bommai has been suffering from knee pain for the past several months. He was recently admitted to a private hospital in the city after he complained of severe knee pain. At that time, he was diagnosed with a heart-related problem. So he underwent minor heart surgery.

Taking to X, Basavaraj Bommai requested that the public not visit him in the hospital.

He wrote on his ‘X’, “After I had a minor heart surgery, I am now taking complete rest as per the doctor’s advice. I am eagerly waiting to come back and meet you all soon. As I am currently in the hospital, if you all come to see me in the hospital, it will disturb other patients in the hospital. So, I would like to request that people refrain from visiting the hospital.”

He further thanked all his wellwishers, saying, “Your good wishes have made me mentally stronger, and I will return to public service soon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who wished me well”.
