NELAMANGALA: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated veteran Kannada actor Dr M Leelavathi’s well-equipped primary health centre at Rampura, Soladevanahalli village, in Nelamangala taluk on Wednesday.
The hospital has been built with all amenities and laboratory equipment at a cost of around 1.20 crore. Around 15-20 villages will benefit from the primary health centre. Following the inauguration, the CM paid a visit to Leelavathi’s house and inquired about her health.
Speaking at the inauguration, the CM said, “Dr Leelavathi is the evergreen artist of our Kannada film industry. I was wondering what Soladevanahalli looked like, but now that I am here, the beauty of nature seems somehow eternal. Being an actor in the movie industry for so long is an achievement, and you are irreplaceable. Even though you constantly faced obstacles and challenges, you have the heart to help others. If Leelavathi amma made up her mind, she could have lived in Sadashivnagar or RMV Layout, but she chose this beautiful village to settle down.”
“Many people have moved to this place, but no one has built a hospital or school. But Leelavathi Amma came here and built a hospital. It is my duty to come here, and I will provide doctors and nurses for this hospital. Leelavathi Amma has proposed for a veterinary hospital. I will do whatever I have to do, and Vinod Raj’s support is huge,” he said.
