BENGALURU: While Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has already issued directions to reduce the quantum of hike of Nandini curds, the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) is still undecided how much to reduce the price, especially in view of the sentiment among people over the milk price hike.
Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has suggested a Rs 2 per litre reduction in Nandini curd prices which meant that the price would recude from Rs 68 to Rs 66 per litre. Half litre of curds will reduce from Rs 34 to Rs 33.
#WATCH | Chitradurga: Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar says, “As far as the curd is concerned, I’ve already directed them (Karnataka Milk Federation) to reduce the price by at least Rs 2–3. They have to reduce it because there should not be a big burden on other things. So I think they will go by our directions.”
On BJP’s protest against the milk price, he says, “BJP is always against the farmers. Whatever 25 lakh farmers are getting from milk, they don’t want them to get the money. BJP is a party of the urban segment, not rural. All the farmers are very happy, and they are against the farming community.”
