TUMAKURU: A Class 10 student of a private residential school at Girigowdanapalya in Kunigal taluk sustained serious injuries, including broken bones and teeth after falling from the school building a few days ago. She is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.
The injured is Srimoksha and the incident has raised questions about ragging at Arvind International Residential School. The incident happened on Monday morning, and the student was hospitalised.
Srimoksha’s father Ramaswamy Reddy, a resident of Bengaluru, was informed on Monday that she had sustained injuries after a fall and had been admitted to a hospital. When he visited the hospital, he was advised to shift Srimoksha to a hospital in Bengaluru for further treatment, he claimed.
From her hospital bed, Srimoksha said she felt somebody pushing her from the building around 5.30 am on Monday, but added that she did not know who pushed her. “I screamed and my teeth were broken. Then I was taken to the hostel”, she said.
Srimokshas’ parents alleged that the school administration was negligent and have filed a complaint with the Kunigal police station. against the school administration. Further investigation is under way.
